This article reflects on the challenges both the EU and NATO will face in 2017. They include 1) the spreading nationalist challenges to supra-national structures; 2) how deal with Brexit and whether to ‘punish’ the UK or not; and 3) meeting President Trump’s NATO policy head on, particularly when dealing with Russia and the nuclear agreement with Iran. Last, the authors speculate on the potential consequences of these issues for Israel.
