This report examines the notion that tourism can help deliver peace and prosperity to developing countries by examining relationships among tourism, development and conflict in Kenya, Nigeria and India. The author argues that while tourism can help promote peace and stability by providing jobs, diversifying the economy and promoting cross-cultural awareness, investment in human capacities and general infrastructure through comprehensive national strategies is vital for a successful tourist industry and for further development to take root.
