This report summarizes a dialogue on the topic of US-China cooperation on low emissions coal technologies. The dialogue examined the realities and opportunities for cooperation between the two countries regarding the development of low emissions coal technologies. The authors argue that in order for China and the US to maintain viable energy portfolios while simultaneously implementing strong environmental remediation programs, both nations have strong incentives to identify concrete steps for accelerating the development and deployment of low emissions technologies and policies.
