This Summary Report details research findings that were presented by the International Relations of the Gulf working group participants during their meeting in Doha, Qatar in January 2009. The research initiative is a two-part scholarly project dealing with in-depth academic and policy analysis of the Gulf’s strategic position in world politics. This report explores critical issues such as security strategies and foreign policy implications of political reforms in the Gulf region, questions of sovereignty and borders, US policy, and the foreign and security policies of Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other regional actors.
