This journal focuses on peace and security issues in the Great Lakes region of East Africa. It discusses the impact of the Dar es Salaam Declaration of 2004, the fight against the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in northern Uganda, and the peace process in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2004. It also explores the role of councils of elders (Gacacas) in Rwanda's post-genocide reconciliation process, outlines menaces to Sudan's North-South peace process, and looks at peacebuilding in Burundi.
