This paper provides a summary of a Diaspora Dialogue hosted by the US Institute for Peace in October 2009. It discusses the role of diaspora communities on conflict resolution before focusing on key issues which the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) needs to face: the de-linking of mining from the war economy, the strengthening of the private sector and zero tolerance for corruption.
