This report investigates the impact of the global financial crisis on migration from Central Asia. It considers potential dangers of a protracted decline in migration for political and social stability in the region. It is the result of interviews carried out in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan from October to December 2009.
