This report provides an overview of US restrictions on travel to Cuba, which have been a key and often contentious component in Washington's efforts to isolate Cuba’s communist government since the early 1960s. In particular, it looks at changes in restrictions between 2004 and 2013, what travel to Cuba is permissible from the US, regulations on remittances, as well as arguments for and against the lifting of travel restrictions to Cuba.
