This report provides an overview of Mexico’s motivations for entering NAFTA, the Mexican economy, the economic effects and views of NAFTA in Mexico, and possible policy options for Members of Congress. It also provides information on NAFTA’s effect on Mexico’s agricultural sector, one of the more controversial issues regarding the effects of NAFTA in Mexico.
