This paper analyzes the consumer protection and stability issues that arose with the financial crisis, as well as their correspondence with the current status of regulation of mortgage credit in the EU. On this basis, the report makes a series of recommendations regarding credit distribution, underwriting and consumer or lender options in the ongoing concerns over the mortgage credit contract.
