This paper examines the extent to which existing international law can be transposed to the cyber domain and where the limitations of doing so lie. The author discusses potential restraints imposed on cyber warfare by existing international law and the most important difficulties and controversies raised in the interpretation and application of international law to cyber warfare. He also assesses and the potential humanitarian impacts of cyber warfare.
