An important and current debate in the conflict resolution field is the distinction between peacekeeping and peace building, especially in situations where this has become less clear and where there is now more overlap in tasks. This Issue unpacks and provides clarity on some of the key questions and issues related to the peacekeeping-peace building nexus, and how it impacts peacekeeping operations and the larger contexts in which they operate.
