This book is the final publication of the three-year project 'Multilateral Approaches to the Nuclear Fuel Cycle' and addresses obstacles to further progress in multilateralization of the nuclear fuel cycle. The author also presents prospects for regional cooperation using East and South-East Asia as a case study. This study hopes to illuminate the critical issues that have to be resolved to promote new multilateral approaches to the nuclear fuel cycle, for both the front-end and the back-end, to provide states with secure and nondiscriminatory access to the benefits of peaceful nuclear energy while strengthening the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
