This paper examines the managing and securing of weapon stockpiles in Africa. Ineffective weapons stockpile management at government depots has resulted in explosions which have led to injuries and deaths in many communities. With reference to case studies in Mozambique and Tanzania, the author argues that African governments must implement and promote effective stockpile management systems to prevent further explosions.
