Using Norway as a case study, this paper carries out an empirical analysis of the factors influencing the export performance of firms in the defense sector. It uses two complementary methodologies to do this. The first uses quantitative firm-level data analysis for the whole population of defense companies, and the second looks at qualitative case study research on the three most important defense export products (weapon stations, ammunition, electronics).
