This issue begins with an article about the role of the UN in bridging gaps between unilateral and multilateral approaches to foreign policy among its members. It also contains articles discussing the African Union Peacekeeping Operation in Burundi, gender issues in relation to the peace process in Sierra Leone, and the idea to establish sub-regional standby forces in Africa. In addition, the journal covers the peacekeeping capability of African regional organisations, the media in Malawi, and provides an overview of UN peacekeeping missions in Africa.
