This study provides an overview of the international agreements, programs and institutional arrangements that constitute the core of the existing international nuclear security regime. It demonstrates that despite the progress made by the Nuclear Security Summit there remain significant challenges to securing nuclear materials and to preventing nuclear terrorist attacks that will require multilateral action.
