This report presents the lessons learned from the Mali case study on Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation of Weapons Collection in Exchange for Development programs. The research findings indicate that use of comprehensive participatory procedures, processes and policies, which give confidence to communities, can lead to greater ease in retrieving illegally held weapons. At the end of the report recommendations aimed at policymakers in countries that fund weapon collection and Weapons Collection in Exchange for Development programs can be found.
