This working paper discusses how US engagement with the UN Human Rights Council has improved the body. Discussing different cases, the author shows examples of how the UN Human Rights Council can make a difference. The paper offers recommendations on sustaining and building upon this positive momentum. The author argues that normalizing the treatment of Israel would be a major step forward.
