The report investigates the key issues on the agenda of the 2012 NATO summit in Chicago. These include questions pertaining to the NATO commitment to Afghanistan, the allied conventional military capabilities and burden-sharing within the alliance. In addition, the future challenges and perspectives of the organization, including its enlargement, are discussed. the author concludes highlighting the importance to strengthen NATO relations with non-member states and other organizations.
