This report explores foreign policy issues confronting US efforts to combat human trafficking, the interrelationship among existing polices, and the role of Congress in such efforts. In the 113th Congress the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) was reauthorized and other bills have been introduced. The TVPA and its reauthorizations remains the cornerstone legislative vehicle for current U.S. policy to combat human trafficking.
