The commentary explores the US most pressing issue related to the nuclear earth penetration capabilities. It provides possible perspectives about the future threats which US needs to deter and about what US needs to hold at risk in order to deter effectively. Thus, the author argues that another pressing issues is about the size and nature of the arsenal needed to face the growing ability of US most plausible state adversaries, including North Korea and Iran.
