This paper analyzes the current geostrategic and security dimensions of South Asia and how they impact Chinese foreign policy. More specifically, it dwells on existing border disputes; regional anti-access strategies designed to keep 'intruders' out; the continuing challenges posed by separatism and terrorism; and a Chinese security strategy that increasingly stresses multilateralism and mutual cooperation in the area.
