This paper discusses the Obama administration's strategic 'pivot' to the Asia-Pacific region and India's role in this doctrine. According to the author, the extent of India’s participation this strategy will be defined by India’s own strategic autonomy in the region, China’s behavior with respect to its border dispute, and India’s strategic priorities in the immediate neighborhood.
