This paper examines the potential of entrepreneurship to underpin the establishment of capable, sustainable, representative and accountable states. It provides an overview of ways entrepreneurship could promote stability in regions that have been affected by conflict, analyzes the applicability of the Six + Six model and presents a set of practical recommendations. The authors assert that entrepreneurs in fragile regions urgently need support in the form of enabling environments and innovative approaches that reward their creativity and risk-taking.
