This policy brief considers the nature of the US-India relationship; a partnership that the author is convinced will play a major role in US foreign policy in the years ahead. In particular, the paper considers plans to strengthen defense ties through military exercises, information sharing, technology development, and responding to security and humanitarian issues. The paper also considers how close diplomatic ties between India and the United States benefit the state of Mississippi.
