This is a transcript of a discussion on Nigeria's Constitution Review Process with Abiola Ajimobi, Executive Governor of Oyo State. In his talk, Governor Ajimobi traces the history of constitutional engineering in Nigeria, before discussing key elements and implications of Nigeria amending its constitution. The key elements of the Constitution Review have significant implications for the stability and development of Nigeria, and range from the distribution of power, fiscal federalism, control of the police and electoral reforms to the tenure of elected officials, the immunity clause, judicial reform as well as ethnic and gender balancing.
