This is a transcript of a panel discussion on geopolitical and economic implications of the Arctic opening, as well as challenges and opportunities for investors. The speakers discuss a variety of developments and their implications for the Arctic region, ranging from environmental risks, infrastructure and economic uncertainty to the politics of the Arctic and local livelihoods, all in the context of retreating sea ice. It is concluded that as the Arctic, one of the world's least explored and last wild places, is globalizing, co-operation is needed to protect this unique environment.
