This policy analysis examines US counter-radicalization strategy. The death of Bin Laden and the emergence of the Arab Spring has de-emphasized many political grievances that have driven terrorist attacks in the past. However, jihadist ideology still presents a potent form of rebellion. According to the author, until the ideology itself, not just its adherents and organizations, is directly challenged, individuals will continue to radicalize and the violent Islamic extremist threat will remain.
