This brief comments on US-Russia relations during the 2012 US presidential elections. The author argues that no matter who wins the elections, bilateral relations with Russia are likely to get worse, and that the Russian preference for Obama means less than it appears. On issues such as the Syrian crisis, Russia's support to Iran and US plans to create a defense shield in Eastern Europe the tensions will be unavoidable. According to the author, the end of the 'reset policy' seems already written.
