This article talks about reports on the use of chemical weapons in Syria. It looks at how these reports can be verified, possible motivations behind the reported attacks, and the implications for international actors, particularly the US and Israel, if the reports are true. He suggests that response options open to the US are not simple and that even if the chemical weapons are used or not, there is a chance that they could fall into the hands of radical elements within the country. He therefore suggests that the US must make plans to destroy these weapons.
