This commentary looks at the difference in the labor market between northern and southern Europe. The authors argue that, to make the EU labor market more mobile across borders, employers in Germany should set up pilot schemes to recruit workers from southern Europe. It also suggests that the European Commission should promote greater cooperation amongst stakeholders to allow greater ease of movement.
