This Working Paper examines the ongoing peace negotiations between the Turkish government and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). More specifically, it argues that given Turkey's rise as a 'mature democracy', the possibility of constructive EU engagement and positive regional changes, the prospects of resolving the deadly Turkish-Kurdish conflict is historically unprecedented.
