This article discusses the political consequences of the economic reform processes in Cuba. In particular, the author focuses on the emergence of institutional reform and the subsequent impact of this reform on the behavior of actors of change, including entrepreneurs, academics, artists and leaders in the Communist Party and the armed forces. He argues that economic reform in Cuba is gradually moving the country from a totalitarian to a post-totalitarian society.
