This policy brief argues that Hizbollah faces a crisis of legitimacy and popularity in Lebanon. Based on an analysis of discussions on Lebanese social networks, the authors identify three major challenges: domestic criticism of Hizbollah's role in Syria; the loss of domestic support for the organization's political wing; and aggravation of pre-existing Lebanese sectarian tensions. The conclusion explores the detrimental effects of these on Lebanon's national stability and provides some possible future scenarios.
