This policy brief examines the causes and implications of popular demonstrations in Turkey in June 2013. The authors argue that most of the protesters are concerned with the extent of power of Prime Minister Erdogan. They conclude that the protests may constrain Erdogan's domestic reform agenda but doubt that they will lead to the toppling of the government.
