This report discusses the relationship between missile defense and nuclear deterrence, in an envisioned world free of nuclear weapons. The authors first address the Euro-Atlantic and Transatlantic dimensions of missile defense. They then present perspectives on missile defense – looking at these issues outside of the European context, i.e., with regard to the nuclear deterrence relationships between various actors in the Middle and Far East.
