This brief looks at the challenges affecting the Asia-Pacific region with a particular focus on the implications for Canada and Australia. The author claims that a number of non-traditional security challenges are emerging in the region, such as food and energy insecurity, cyber security and humanitarian crises related to environmental crises. He underlines the relevance of these challenges for Canada and Australia and argues that the two countries need to find ways to cooperate to face the challenges.
