This paper talks about how the US economy could develop and shape the global system up to the year 2030. It examines the position of the US as a global player in the international system and assesses its relative economic decline in comparison to Asia and other developing countries. The author concludes by discussing the future political and economic challenges facing the US and outlining some recommendations for structural reforms.
