According to the authors, the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE), long regarded as the cornerstone of European security, no longer reflects the political and military realities on the continent. This paper discusses the benefits of replacing the CFE with a transparency-based control mechanism. One, which would forgo any numerical, qualitative or geographical limitations. The author argues that such an approach would help build an enduring platform that would maintain predictability, confidence and stability in Europe. This would be a beneficial development for Poland as well.
