This paper examines the role of the Americas in developing norms of behavior and in seeking comprehensive solutions in space. The authors discuss developing space capabilities in the Americas, activities of these states related to the development of international frameworks for space activities, and the possible role of actors in the region in the development of future norms. They draw the conclusion that by identifying the common interests of established and emerging space actors within the Americas, policymakers in the region can aid in the development of common approaches that might command widespread support among all space actors on a global scale.
