This paper looks at the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and the non-proliferation process and examines the particular relevance of these for South Asia. He argues that, in order for the non-proliferation process to be more successful, the involved institutions must reevaluate the existing treaties and accommodate South Asia, especially India and Pakistan, in order to help protect 'weaker' countries.
