This report examines the challenges facing Australia's Antarctic policy and what the nation can do to remain a leading Antarctic player. The authors evaluate Australia's options. These include promoting critical scientific research and cooperation as well as resource conservation and environmental protection, and protecting its geo-strategic interests. They contend that Australia's main concern is to maintain political and legal order in the Antarctic region.
