This paper examines the benefits to the US of the change of leadership in Iran and the implications of President Rouhani's negotiation style. The author explains that a new relationship between the US and Iranian presidents could make it possible, for the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, for them to discuss disputed issues directly and attempt to resolve them.
