This brief evaluates US-Egypt bilateral relations, focusing on the implications of the reduction of US financial and military aid to Egypt. The author outlines the new guidelines for American support in Egypt and argues that the reduction of aid will not lead to chaos as regional players will step in to cover what has been lost. However, she also says that the best course for the US would be to maintain its aid package to Egypt as this would allow the US to direct the country's actions to some extent.
