This brief examines the consequences of the Chinese company CPMIEC winning the bid for the manufacturing of a long range air defense system for Turkey. The authors explain that the deal has led to some concerns from Turkey's NATO allies over possible Chinese access to sensitive information and the possibility of Beijing entering the Middle East military arena as an important player.
