This brief discusses the disagreement between Israel and the US over the direction of negotiations in the Geneva talks on Iran's nuclear program. The author states that the US sees the initial agreement put forward in the talks as a prelude to serious negotiations on a final agreement, while Israel fears that in this process the US will abolish its sanctions on Iran and that no negotiation tool will be left for the final agreement. He thinks that in order to achieve their common goal of preventing Iran’s nuclear program, the US and Israel must resume strategic and tactical coordination.
