Publication

2013

This publication explores how international mediators or those involved in mediation support can assist in local and national-level peace efforts without undermining local 'ownership' of the processes involved. It additionally focuses on three specific gaps that undermine mediation efforts -- an absence of case-specific understanding, poor information sharing and coordination, and insufficient local and international collaboration -- and then suggests ways in which these problems might be overcome.
