This paper examines the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of Ministers, the two principal regional organizations comprised of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. In particular, the author looks at the history and mission of these organizations, their geopolitical significance, the way they relate to the broader international system, and their future. He also looks at how the two organizations can strengthen their role and remain attractive to their stakeholders.
