This paper argues that two events - the ousting of corrupt local political leaders in Wukan, Guangdong province as well as that of of Bo Xilai, the Communist Party secretary in Chongqing - signal that the Chinese government may be choosing a path of legal and political reform. One which promotes sustainable growth to reduce macroeconomic imbalances and over-reliance on the dollar.
